Amon Wood's parents were Stephen Wood and Preshea Riley Wood. Steven was born January 27, 1748/49 in Montgomery Co., Md. He died in Woodville, Greene Co., Illinois. Preshea Riley was born Dec. 19, 1753 in Montgomery Co., Md. and died about 1835 in Woodville, Greene Co., Illinois. They were married in 1771. Steven was in the Mont. Co. Maryland Militia. H. Amon Wood married Sarah Baker (born June 5, 1782 in North Carolina and died August 1, 1862 in Woodville. Amon died June 26, 1854, and he and Sarah are buried in the Mayberry Cemetary, Greene Co., Ill. |
