OBITUARY OF IRENE ZINK BAUER
A. Irene Bauer, 78, widow of George L. Bauer, Sr., formerly of rural Smithboro, died 12:20 a.m. Sunday January 27, at Hitz Memorial Nursing Home in Alhambra.  Services are 2 p.m. today (Tuesday) in Dewy-Schidknecht Funeral Home, the  Rev. Reymond Fuller officiating.  Interment will follow in Maxey cemetery.  No visitation was held.
The daughter of John and Sadie (Millet) Zink, Mrs. Bauer was born Octover 28, 1906 in Bond county, living the majority of her life in this area.  She was a former school teacher, having taught at Union School in Pleasant Mound Township.
On April 10, 1934, she and George L. Bauer Sr. were married.  They farmed and later operated Bauer Bonanza.  Mr. Bauer died October 18, 1963.
Surviving are son, George, Jr. of rural Smithboro; daughter, Sayde White of Marine; four grandchildren and two great grandchildren.  A sister Ruby preceded her in death.
Mrs. Bauer was a member of St. Peters United Church of Christ, Hookdale, designated a memorial, the Women's Guild, Bond County Home Extension and Eastern Star.
